How CBD Can Help You Sleep + Sleepy Time CBD Infused Tea Recipe

Of all the many reasons people are taking CBD these days, one of the most popular is sleep. Celebrities and regular consumers alike testify that they're getting better rest using CBD.

While much research on CBD and sleep is still underway, there is reason to believe that CBD can help people relax, de-stress, and get into a better mood for bedtime. But it's most effective when used in combination with a nightly routine that helps build good sleep habits, and sometimes with other natural products.

How Are CBD and Sleep Connected?

Elsewhere on Legalizing CBD's site, we've described how CBD works with the endocannabinoid system (ECS), a network of receptors and transmitters within the nervous system. The ECS helps regulate a large number of bodily processes. Overall it helps keep everything in balance. By supporting this balance, CBD gives many users a feeling of calm and well-being.

Therefore, CBD's de-stressing properties can enhance the effects of lowered cortisol levels to make you feel more ready for some shuteye. If you take any CBD product before bedtime, the effect typically lasts six or seven hours, helping you stay on an even keel throughout the night.

Many people find that's enough to get them through rough patches in their sleep lives. But note that CBD deals with only part of the equation: the stress. What about the rest of it?

Melatonin and CBD for Sleep

Melatonin is used to treat delayed sleep and circadian rhythm sleep disorders in the blind and provide insomnia relief. Research suggests that melatonin plays other important roles in the body beyond sleep. However, these effects are not fully understood.

The good thing about melatonin is that you don't have to rely on your body's production. It also occurs naturally in some plants, from which herbalists can extract it and sell it as an over-the-counter health supplement.

Therefore, CBD and melatonin make a natural combination for sleep aids. You can find it in various forms. A CBD tincture for sleep is the fastest-acting if you take it sublingually. Squeeze a few drops under your tongue and hold for 30 to 60 seconds to let it absorb, and you should feel the effects in about 30 minutes or less! Here at Legalizing CBD, we offer our fascinating Sleep Time Formula CBD Oil + Melatonin. This blend is the perfect way to prepare your body and mind for restorative sleep, an excellent night recovery, relaxation, and a powerful recharge.

Legalizing CBD's Sleep Time Formula combines our highly, Full Spectrum CBD Oil (+ CBG, CBC,CBN) with a unique combination of relaxing lavender oil and a Melatonin, known to have sleep support agents that work together assisting you to reach flawless rest.

The Sleep Time drops are also combined with MCT Oil ( Natural Medium Chain Triglyceride), being the most efficient way to consume CBD for a quick and easy absorption of the essential fatty acids that MCT offers.

MCT, CBD, and Melatonin work together in perfect balance to help you wind down while feeling recovered and relaxed.

You can also find CBD and melatonin products in capsule or edible forms. These usually take an hour or two to work because they have to go through your digestive system before hitting your bloodstream.

sleepy time cbd infused tea recipe.. cbd for sleep

This super chill CBD drink will help you relax and drift off into an eternal slumber. This recipe isn't your regular cup of sleepy time tea – it's full of amazing ingredients that each serve a certain purpose. Take a look below at the health benefits:

  • Almond Milk – Almonds are rich in calcium, which helps the brain produce melatonin. It's also packed with magnesium, which is vital for sleep regulation. If you don't like almond milk, you can use your favorite kind of milk and add 1 tsp of magnesium.

  • Butterfly Pea Tea – This caffeine-free color-changing tea can help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. A 2003 study found that butterfly pea extract may affect mice's central nervous system, improve cognitive behavior, and create a calm state. (You can omit, can be hard to find).

  • Chamomile Tea – Chamomile is a mild tranquilizing herb that induces sleep. Its calming effects are thanks to the antioxidant apigenin. Apigenin binds to specific receptors in your brain, much like CBD, which helps decrease anxiety and initiate the sleep cycle.

  • Lavender – Lavender works as an anxiety reliever by placing the body into a state of relaxation and calm, which helps induce sleep. It interacts positively with the neurotransmitter GABA which reduces nervous system activity, agitation, and restlessness. If you are using our SLEEP Time Formula, it already has natural lavender oil, so you don't need to add more if you don't want to.

  • Blue Spirulina – Blue spirulina is a potent source of amino acids that help produce melatonin – the hormone that helps us sleep. It also contains vitamin B1, calcium, and iron. (Can be replaced with regular spirulina if needed).

  • Raw Honey – When you sleep, your brain uses much energy from glycogen sugars stored within your liver. The additional sugar before bed can help your brain to function better. Raw honey is 22% better at making liver glycogen than processed honey. It's important to note that this trick works better when consumed without protein, but it should still help a little!

  • SLEEP Time CBD – The star of the show has to be Legalizing CBD's Sleep Time Formula + Melatonin. It comes with 1500mg full-spectrum CBD oil combined with Organic Virgin Cold Pressed Coconut Oil and Natural Lavender oil. Full Spectrum CBD products are created from hemp through a full-plant extraction. They contain naturally occurring cannabinoids (includes <0.3% THC), plant terpenes, flavonoids, vitamins, minerals, and plant proteins of the original hemp source. These compounds work together, typically referred to as the "Entourage Effect," multiplying the potential health benefits.

Now that you know what's in it and why it's time to get on with making this lovely cuppa. It takes a couple of minutes to make, and the rest is all brewing time. So what are you waiting for? Let's start!
