Legalizing CBD is ready to fight climate change. Legalizing CBD environmental program

CLIMATE CHANGE

Uncontrolled climate change is the most important challenge of our times and we stand ready to oppose it. We support the Paris agreement on limiting climate change well below two degrees and are ready to contribute our fair share toward this goal.

SUSTAINABILITY COMMITMENTS

Global warming is accompanied by environmental changes that threaten potentially permanent degradation of human and natural habitats. Sea levels, melting glaciers, ocean warming and acidification as well as extreme weather events are on the rise. With higher stakes must come stronger commitments. This is the reason why Legalizing CBD has decided to take its efforts even further through a program called “Legalizing CBD for the Future”. Our commitments towards 2030 mark the beginning of a more radical transformation and embody our view as to what a company’s vision, purpose and responsibilities should be to meet the challenges facing the world.
Legalizing CBD has decided to fight global warming.

LEGALIZING CBD FOR THE FUTURE

OUR COMMITMENTS

We have set ourselves bold, measurable targets for 2030 on climate, biodiversity and natural resources, in accordance with what scientific experts demand and what our planet needs.

  • Fighting Climate Change

  • Respecting Biodiversity

  • Preserving Natural Resources

  • Plastic Carbon Footprint

FIGHTING CLIMATE CHANGE

It is now widely recognized that climate change and biodiversity are interconnected. Biodiversity is affected by climate change, with negative consequences for human well-being, but biodiversity, through the ecosystem services it supports, also makes an important contribution to both climate-change mitigation and adaptation. Consequently, conserving and sustainably managing biodiversity is critical to addressing climate change
Knowing this we commit ourselves to,

  • Promote our Recycling Program
  • Ending the use of single-use, disposable plastic
  • Promoting zero-waste communities
  • Requiring extended producer responsibility
  • Adopting and enforcing ambitious targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from all sectors, including plastic production.

To stop using plastic we and all the industries have to replace it with something else. That something else would use energy and produce carbon emissions too. Glass and paper, for example, are very energy-intensive. So in order to get a complete picture, we are studying these replacements, that no one has done it yet.”

RESPECTING BIODIVERSITY

The planet is moving towards a sixth mass extinction. The destruction of natural ecosystems, in particular due to agriculture, is threatening our planet and communities’ resilience to climate change.

As a natural CBD Company, most of Legalizing CBD's raw materials are derived from renewable sources, and are largely of plant origin. We sees biodiversity as an important and growing source of innovation and is committed to sourcing its ingredients in a sustainable.

Our commitments for 2030 will help strengthen our efforts to protect biodiversity along our entire value chain while minimizing the land occupancy needed for all our activities. Science indicates that the conversion of natural habitats for expanding agriculture, towns and infrastructures is the primary cause of biodiversity loss.

We have therefore decided to act on this parameter, by measuring in an innovative and scientifically robust way the biodiversity footprint (in terms of ecosystem occupation) of our industrial activities and the industrial activities of our suppliers (sourcing, packaging and ingredients).

Island Biodiversity and Climate Change

Based in the rainbow Island, Oahu, Hawaii. We take this step very seriously. Islands are often characterized by a very rich biodiversity, upon which local people rely economically. Island ecosystems are also very fragile. An estimated 75% of animal species and 90% of bird species that have become extinct since the 17th century are insular. Furthermore, 23% of island species are at present considered endangered, whereas the corresponding figure for the rest of the world is 11%.

Island ecosystems are especially vulnerable to climate change because island species populations tend to be small, localized, and highly specialized, and thus can easily be driven to extinction; Coral reefs, which provide a number of services to island people, are highly sensitive to temperature and chemical changes in seawater.

Legalizing CBD manage consumption of natural resources.

PRESERVING NATURAL RESOURCES

At Legalizing CBD, we manage our consumption of natural resources to ensure that our activities are compatible with a resource-constrained planet. We promote the use of renewable raw materials that are sustainably sourced or derived from green chemistry. We are also working on solutions that allow for more recycling and promote the development of the circular economy.
For More Sustainable Packaging
With a strong commitment to developing innovative solutions for plastic recycling, Legalizing CBD has implemented a responsible packaging policy and Recycling Reward Program based on three pillars, known as the “three Rs”: Respect, Recycle and Reuse - for the packaging of finished products and also for packaging used during transport.
Legalizing CBD replaces conventional materials with alternatives from recycled or renewable sources (recycled or biosourced materials) at every possible opportunity.
This progress results primarily from our efforts to integrate recycled materials within plastic and glass packaging.

PLASTIC CARBON FOOTPRINT

In order to empower our consumers to make more sustainable choiceswe have implemented the ¨Legalizing CBD Recycling Program¨ not only for the Legalizing CBD products that use plastic but for all the plastic products out there.

HOW RECYCLING OR REUSING BOTTLES HELPS THE ENVIRONMENT

Recycling CBD bottles is one way that you can help reduce pollution and waste. Here are a few facts about how recycling or reusing glass can help the environment.
Glass recycling is sustainable because glass can continuously be recycled without losing its quality or purity. In addition to being environmentally friendly, recycled glass is an inert material making it impermeable and safe for food.
Recycling CBD bottles benefits raw materials and resources by reducing the need for new glass extraction. This ultimately helps to conserve virgin materials such as sand, limestone and sodium carbonate.
The life cycle of producing recycled glass is not as time consuming as people may think. In fact, it can take as little as 30 days for glass to go from a recycling bin to grocery store shelves.

COMMUNITY CLEAN UP

As part of our CBD package recycling program, Legalizing CBD Collect, we will be hosting regular community cleanups. In addition, we are looking to partner with other community clean ups.

RECYCLING OR REUSE CBD
CAN CBD OIL BOTTLES BE RECYCLED?

Yes, in most cases your glass tincture bottles can be recycled. You can check your local recycling program guidelines to confirm that glass bottles can be placed in your regular recycling bin. If not, your community may still offer curbside pickup or drop-off locations to recycle glass.

If you’re going to recycle the bottle, it should ideally be clean but it doesn’t have to be spotless. Rinsing it out with warm water should suffice. You should also remove the dropper top and either dispose of it or reuse it separately. For example, some users keep an extra dropper on hand if they are sharing their CBD product with a pet.

WHAT ARE SOME WAYS TO REUSE A CBD TINCTURE BOTTLE?

Here are a few creative ways for reusing a bottle.

Before reusing it, we recommend a thorough cleaning. To do this, wash the bottle with warm soapy water. If you want to remove the label, letting it soak in hot water may help remove it easier. After you’ve cleaned it, rinse it out and let it air dry upside down. If necessary, vinegar or rubbing alcohol can be used to remove any leftover residue.

Use it for a travel bottle

A 30 milliliter bottle can make a great travel size. Whether you’re going on a trip or just want a smaller bottle for your purse, you can reuse an empty bottle.

Mini flower vases

Placing a small flower into your empty bottle can make a stylish decoration for nightstands and end tables. It can also serve as an ongoing reminder to take your daily dose!

Bottle lights

If you’re the crafty type, you can put mini LED lights in your empty bottles or incorporate them into a string of holiday lights to brighten up your home.

Store other homemade items

Empty CBD tincture bottles can be reused to store homemade items such as vanilla extract or hand sanitizer. If the dropper top doesn’t work for your purposes, you can buy a different bottle top on Amazon or your local craft store.

Convert your bottle to a roller ball

If you sometimes apply your CBD oil topically, you can replace the dropper top with a roller ball top. Having a separate roller bottle will make it easier and more convenient to apply it directly to your skin.

Give them to a friend

Most people have at least one friend that is an avid user of either CBD oil or essential oils. Chances are that someone you know will be able to put your empty bottle to good use.
